Mobitest – an open-source tool that makes web faster
Mobitest is a technology that helps web developers who need to measure page load times for their applications on real mobile devices. Recently acquired by Akamai, it was made open-source in March 2012. To celebrate the event, Guy Podjarny wrote an article explaining what Mobitest is, hiow to use it and how to test the performance of a web-application.
He also mentions and explains two performance measurement techniques called Synthetic Testing and RUM (Real User Monitoring), the difference between them and why it’s necessary to use both of them to make your testing comprehensive and complete.
Guy Podjarny is Chief Product Architect at Akamai. Which is another reason to pay attention to his stuff.
